At just the age of 15 a young girl by the name of Angiie was forced into prostitution. After being abducted at gunpoint near a foster care group home, where she was living at the time. She was immediately thrown into the awful world of prostitution and was forced by her pimps to have sex with at least 25 men a day. Her pimps also forced her to recruit younger girls to become prostitutes, if she failed they would beat her. After months in the sex trade Angiie was recognized as a missing girl girl by a clerk at a Brooklyn hotel. She was then found and rescued by the NYPD’s Human Trafficking Team. NYPD has stopped arresting girls and boys under the age of 18 for prostitution. Instead they are connecting victims of sex trafficking with counselors and social services agencies. The arrests of anyone 18 years of age or older is determined on a case-by-case basis.
