A maternity ward sister in Durban, South Africa is receiving praise. On Saturday she was approached by two unknown men wearing home affairs departmental name tags which allowed them to gain access, stating they were helping collect the mothers and newborns in order to help them register the birth certificate. This did not sit well with the Addington Hospital nurse and she refused to release the babies in doing so the two men left shortly after. “It is reprehensible that people would go to such lengths as to reproduce Departmental name tags and try to commit something so heinous. The pain and suffering that could have resulted from this is unimaginable.” – Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo
