Over 100 children found in Michigan sex trafficking operation

On September 26th 2018 operation MISafeKid throughout Wayne County on a one-day sweep 123 kids were found.  The goal of the operation was to recover missing children and locate sex trafficking victims. All of the rescued children were interviewed on grounds of if there was any sexual victimization or possible sex trafficking, where at this moment three of the children are identified as possible trafficking cases.  While conducting the operation in Michigan they obtained information on two more children missing in Texas and one other in Minnesota.

“Several agencies were involved in the operation including the US Marshals Service, Michigan State Police, Detroit Police Department, Wayne County local law enforcement, as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Inspector General.”
